Spotted the Pop Store in the Waterfront, although I took the photos for dbriefed I had to share the rest because it’s such a great shop! The space suddenly became available and Design Indaba snapped it up, however as a Pop store it won’t be around forever so make it top of your list.
They stock the alternative collection of freeRange Jewels, The Summit’s high-end leather accessories, Spilt Milk dresses, Imiso Ceramics, Wren Design’s awesome recycled PPC Cement laptop bags, Mielie’s colourful collection of handbags, bluecollarwhitecollar’s bespoke shirts, Stiaan Louw’s designs as well as Stefania Morland’s garments. A very well curated space where you can find some of your favourite South Africa designers, as well as discover some new talent.
updated 27/08/2011: Like all good things Pop Shop, inspired by Design Indaba, is coming to an end. But there’s still the online shop with gorgeous local creative wares. Now you see it, now you don’t. But don’t despair because even though Pop Shop, inspired by Design Indaba, will no longer be at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, you will still be able to find your favourite all-South African designer products at Design Indaba’s online shop.
After a most successful two month pop-up stint, Pop Shop will be relocating to new, currently secret, pastures. So be sure to pay a visit before 9pm on Wednesday 31 August 2011, the last day of trading, for great designer products, some of which will be available at discounted prices!
